We’re Saving a Seat for You!

Visiting a new church can be a little scary and overwhelming. We invite you to explore the options below to make your visit something to look forward to.
We are here because of the good news of Jesus Christ.

We are sinners who have been rescued from sin by Jesus Christ. Though we have different backgrounds, ethnicities, opinions, and personalities, we find commonality in the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

We gather each week to worship the one true God revealed in the Bible. We're grateful for the privilege He has given us to worship, live, and serve in our local community.

We rely on God's grace to give us true unity to function together as one body in Jesus Christ, submitted to the Word of God and committed to living that Word out in our daily lives.

Who We Are

Legacy Church is a church striving to be fearless, passionate, authentic, and global.
Fearless Preaching

Legacy Church is committed to the central importance of the word of God. We proclaim the word of God and sound doctrine primarily through expositional preaching, which means studying one book of the Bible at a time, examining its teaching verse by verse, and seeking to understand the biblical author’s words and ideas in the context in which he gave them. This produces a body of doctrine and lifestyle that comes from the Bible, rather than being imposed on the Bible. Furthermore, this sort of teaching is careful, considerate, thorough, and absolutely relevant to all of the issues of our day. At times, we briefly postpone the expositional approach in order to examine pressing topics; but these “topical” sermons are always grounded in the exposition of the Scriptures.

Passionate Affection

Legacy Church is committed to growing in heartfelt love for God and love for one another. While American society is often characterized by words of compassion without tangible demonstrations of love, our church body works hard to show meaningful, selfless love towards one another and to the community of Novi. We listen to one another, we pray for one another, we serve one another, we give to one another, and we fellowship with one another. As we are able, we seek to meet tangible needs in our community as well.

Authentic Worship

Legacy Church is committed to lifting our voices together, as one Christian body, in praise to God. Therefore, the emphasis of our worship is on the congregational singing. All that we do in worship is focused on the greatness of our God and is intended to encourage full participation of God’s people in worship. We blend together traditional hymns with the best of contemporary worship music, and emphasize songs of all eras that are theologically rich and substantive. It is important to us that our worship is not a performance that people observe, but rather an offering to God that we all give together.

Global Vision

Legacy Church is committed to carrying out the Great Commission of Jesus Christ to the ends of the earth, beginning with a powerful gospel witness in our city of Novi, Michigan. This Great Commission encompasses the sharing of the message of salvation through Jesus Christ alone, by faith alone, through grace alone. It also encompasses a ministry of social good which affirms the sincerity and reality of our gospel message. To this end, Legacy Church partners with a number of ministries and causes to advance this gospel mission: the Baptist State Convention of Michigan, the Southern Baptist Convention, Operation Christmas Child, MOPS, Another Way Pregnancy Center, Grace Centers of Hope, and others.

What to Expect

Walking into a church for the first time can be intimidating, so we want to help you know what to expect when you visit.

We promise not to embarrass you or point you out. If you wish, you can fill out a connection card and we’ll follow up with you later. You can come knowing you are in the midst of a group of broken people, whom all need God’s grace.

What to Wear

We have a diversity of people who attend our services and are thankful for a congregation with a variety of dress. You'll find anything from very casual jeans and t-shirts to polos and slacks to suits. We encourage you to come as you are.

We are thankful to have a congregation with many children. We are a church that loves our children and encourage all parents to raise their children to worship as part of the church. We provide nursery for children up to age 4 for the entire worship service and dismiss children ages 5 years old through 4th grade for junior church before the sermon. Some children remain in the service the entire time, and we welcome their presence.

Grow Groups

On Sunday morning at 9:45 a.m., we come together for Grow Groups for all ages, where we learn topically about God’s Word and its application to all areas of life. Following Grow Groups, we have about a 20-minute break with light refreshments and good conversation before our morning worship service begins at 11:00 am.

Service Format

Our service is intentional, in that it follows a deliberate order of worship, but it’s not formal in style. We sing several songs, offer congregational and pastoral prayers to God, hear the Scriptures read and taught, and give our offerings and tithes.  We close each morning worship service with a benediction, with the typical service finishing around 12:15 pm. An hour later, you might still find folks talking over the sermon and events of the past week.
